Return to Information Retrieval, Digital Libraries and Indexing One of the most important features of the so-called Web information systems is their capability of incorporating data from many different Web sites. As a result, there is an increasing need for high level interfaces that allow the collection of static and dynamic Web pages from such sites. This paper presents ASByE, a tool designed to generate plans for collecting sets of dynamic and static Web documents. The tool includes a graphical interface which the user uses to provide examples of how to reach the desired pages within a site, fill any forms needed, and navigate sets of related pages to form collections. This paper also presents a real case study where ASByE was successfully applied. DiSC'01 Copyright ©2002 ACM Inc. |
