   SIGMOD Welcome Reception
　Place: Banquet Hall, Beijing Continental Grand Hotel
　Food: Chinese buffet, beers and drinks. Sufficient food as a dinner substitute. At this
             reception you will have a chance to observe professional chefs carving Beijing Roast
             Ducks into small pieces that you can enjoy.

　This event will feature a pre-dinner cruising on the Kunming Lake, a royal court cuisine dinner, and a selected classical Chinese opera/acrobatics performance in Summer Palace, a famous World Cultural Heritage named by UNESCO. The Tingli Hall Restaurant was built by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty during 19th century. It was a place for Queen Mother Cixi to watch Peking opera, listen to music and hold parties. Since 1949, Tingli Hall Restaurant has been open to the general public. It has since entertained many national leaders from China and foreign countries, including Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Elizabeth II, Henry Kissinger, and George Bush.
