This paper introduces a number of data store and access requirements for LBS based on examples from our own work and that of others in the field. We consider specifically the areas of location representation, gathering location data, assets, location-based queries, and location system architecture, all of which are important to location-based systems and are extensions and specializations of current database issues. ©2006 Association for Computing Machinery
