November 9, 2001    Atlanta, GA USA

In conjunction with

ACM CIKM 2001: Tenth International Conference on

Information and Knowledge Management

Sponsored by

ACM SIGIR and SIGMIS

Workshop Outline

Data warehousing allows the consolidation and storage of data in information systems that provide

executives and managers with timely access to critical information for strategic and tactical decision making.

Research activities and technologies of data warehousing and OLAP are rapidly growing. However,

many issues need to be fully explored and well understood to reach a reasonable maturity and efficiency of

such technologies.

Aim of the Workshop

Like the previous successful DOLAP workshops held in conjunction with CIKM, the fourth edition of

the Workshop on Data Warehousing and OLAP (DOLAP 2001) aims to reduce the gap between the

research community and industry practitioners by providing an international forum where both researchers

and practitioners can share their findings in theoretical foundations, current methodologies,

practical experiences, and new research directions in the areas of data warehousing and OLAP.
