2015 SIGMOD Contributions Award

Dr. Curtis Dyreson is awarded the 2015 SIGMOD Contributions award for extensive and outstanding service to the database community as ACM TODS and ACM SIGMOD Information Director and ACM SIGMOD Anthology and DiSC Editor.

Details: Curtis Dyreson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Utah State University. His research interests include temporal databases, XML databases, data cubes, and aspect-oriented programming. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona under the supervision of Richard T. Snodgrass.  Prior to Utah State University he was on the faculty at James Cook University (Australia), Bond University (Australia), and Washington State University (USA), and was a visiting professor at Aalborg University (Denmark).  He was the SIGMOD Anthology editor from 2004-2007, the SIGMOD DiSC editor from 2007-2010, the SIGMOD Information Director from 2011-now, the TODS Information Director from 2001-now, and since 2004 has served on the SIGMOD Executive Committee.  He also served as the general co-chair of SIGMOD 2014 (with Feifei Li) and the program co-chair of DASFAA 2014 (with Sourav Bhowmick and Christian Jensen).
